Diogenes Laertius

Diogenes Laertius was a biographer of the Greek philosophers about whose own life almost nothing is known. His Lives of Eminent Philosophers, probably written in the first half of the 3rd century CE, preserves many sayings and anecdotes found nowhere else.

Little is known for certain here; this background is thin and may be revised.
