Friedrich Nietzsche
Friedrich Nietzsche was a German philosopher and classical scholar who became a professor at Basel at the age of 24. In books such as Thus Spoke Zarathustra and Twilight of the Idols he questioned inherited morality and religion and asked how life can be affirmed. A collapse in January 1889 ended his working life.
